The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) entered into force in February 2025, with obligations applying automatically in all EU member states starting August 2026.
PPWR is set to transform how packaging is designed, produced, used, reused, and recycled across the EU, affecting every actor in the packaging value chain. Whether you’re a retailer, packaging manufacturer, FMCG brand, or HORECA operator, your business will be directly impacted.
At Invisible Nature, we leverage our in-depth expertise in packaging sustainability to help your company identify the optimal solutions for your packaging portfolio, while also aligning with PPWR’s complex measures and compliance obligations.
WE OFFER:
- A 2–3 hour customised workshop or webinar for your team and/or suppliers, providing a comprehensive overview of the PPWR, tailored insights into the obligations relevant to your current packaging portfolio, and practical guidance on how to prepare.
- Packaging guidelines for your team and/or suppliers to support alignment with the PPWR and/or voluntary packaging objectives set by your company.
- Engagement with relevant departments in the company on packaging issues (e.g. recyclability, reduction of plastic consumption, reducing excessive packaging, reuse, etc.) and legislation (e.g. monthly calls; ad-hoc support).
- Implementation support (e.g., for packaging trials, consumer engagement actions)

In October 2023, a Berlin court ruled against a global meal kit delivery company, prohibiting it from advertising as the “first climate-neutral meal box provider” and from claiming to offset 100% of its direct emissions through carbon offsetting projects.
If your company uses terms like “biodegradable,” “recyclable,” “eco-friendly,” “green,” or “climate neutral” in marketing or communication, you are at risk of greenwashing allegations and non-compliance with upcoming EU regulations on environmental claims.
We can help you navigate these risks and prepare for new obligations around green claims—ensuring your messaging is compliant, unambiguous and substantiated.
WE OFFER:
- A 2-3 hour customised webinar in which we discuss greenwashing risks for your business, the current EU regulatory context and the actions that the company can implement to prepare for future obligations. Plus, as a bonus, we offer you a decision tree to help you implement the obligations on generic green claims that are part of the anti-greenwashing Directive “Empowering Consumers for the green transition”, which will apply as of September 2026.
- Assessment of your current environmental claims and greenwashing risks (including identifying potential problematic claims and proposing solutions for remediation)
- Support in developing an internal process to manage your sustainability claims
